  1. WD Purple Surveillance Hard Drives

    WD Purple Surveillance Hard Drive

In this particular blog you can read about the WD Purple Surveillance Hard Drive. This blog has all different types of features, sizes and many benefits. Here’s all the information you need to know:

WD Purple offers its customers a great AllFrame technology. Because WD Purple is equipped with AllFrame it also works with ATA to reduce any frame loss, improve your playbacks and to increase the number of drive bays that are supported. This will bring you amazing reliability and some peace of mind when you are making the installation of it into your home or in your small/medium sized business security surveillance systems.

The Firmware upgrades work with ATA streaming to reduce any error pixelation on your photos or videos. This also will reduce any of your video interruptions that may happen when a desktop hard drive is used in the wrong way in a security system. This security system is built for a 24/7, always on, high resolution surveillance security system. This is only for systems that use up to 8 hard drives and up to 32 cameras.

When you are choosing a hard drive that’s right for you, there’s a few things you need to think about first. You should always choose a hard drive that is designed and engineered for a home or business surveillance system, if that’s where you are installing the hard drive. Choosing the right one that will work properly means that you can then enjoy some peace of mind that you can only get from surveillance-class hard drives.

Desktop drives vs. surveillance class storage.

A standard desktop hard drive is engineered to read, write and transfer data. Whereas, a surveillance hard drive is engineered to perform as a security blanket for your surveillance system.

If you had to transfer loads of products across the world or country, you wouldn’t get someone in a car to do it, so why use the wrong hard drive in a surveillance system? You should never use a desktop hard drive in a surveillance system because it was not designed for that application. If you do this something could do wrong or it might not work at all.

WD Purple surveillance-class storage is always tested for compatibility in a large range of security systems. Because it

is engineered for compatibility with industry leading frames and chip set manufacturers for consistent integration into your new or existing video surveillance system. These hard drives are designed to replace the normal desktop drives that were not designed for a hard 24/7, always on, surveillance environment. Desktop drives are designed only to run short intervals and they were not engineered to deal with any high temperature variations and any equipment vibrations which are round in a typical surveillance application.

With this system, whether it's to protect a personal asset or if it’s to monitor a business you have worked very hard on. You can always rely on surveillance-class storage which has been built by one of the largest hard drive manufacturers in the entire world.  This hard drive also lowers the power consumption and then makes it flexible and easy for you to expand in the future. This hard drive is also not recommended for a NAS environment

  2. Seagates Ironwolf NAS Drives Arrive!

    Seagates Ironwolf NAS Drives Arrive!

This arrived just in time for SMBs (small and midsized businesses) planning on a data-led Covid-19 recovery.

Seagates technology is the world’s leader in storage and management solutions. It has been reported that there has been a global survey of 3,000 small or medium business decision makers. The survey has revealed that despite economic headwinds, existing SMB IT infrastructure for many SMBs show, flexibility and most of SMBs believe business data is a very important role in the long term recovery plans.

It has also been announced that there will be an update with

Ironwolf and Pro NAS drive lines, aimed at home or small office environments. They have a new 18TB size HDD and SATA SSD models. These new drives deliver a greater speed, capacity and stamina to bring reliable, accessible and stable performance with NAS solutions.

Even though working from home was an unexpected change to working normally, the SMB IT infrastructure that already existed proved their resilience, according to research. More than half of SMBs decision makers said that there was no trouble in accessing the files and company data when working from home. 61% reported similar production levels to when their employees are in the office. 45% of SMD decision-makers told us that their company’s data infrastructure was stronger than expected during the pandemic. All SMBs included in studies have fewer than 250 employees, and most of them have fewer than 50.

SMBs to adopt data-driven COVID-19 recovery strategies.

SMBs future decision makers are making their recovery plan. 36% of SMB decision makers are suspecting that their staff will work from home more often after COVID-19 is over. This makes the appreciation of how data can help businesses recover and thrive a lot bigger and it will be essential. 65% of SMBs decision makers say that their before COVID-19 recovery plan is being well educated by the data they have stored about their business. The pandemic has influenced reconsideration of the value of business data amongst SMB decision makers. 55% have said that they accept the value of their business data more than they did before the pandemic.

There’s a big variety of business data available to SMBs and decision makers, regarding some of that data as much more important to their business’ recovery strategy. Globally, SMBs decision-makers grouped data around customer purchases which was 59% and customer maintenance which is 57% as the most useful data to their business, with employee productivity measurements coming in third at 52%.

The new 18TB IronWolf Pro is especially made and improved for NAS with AgileArrayTM firmware, which is built on top of CMR technology which dispatches steady RAID performances while allowing multiple, existing users. The drive offers a big workload rate limit (WRL) of 300TB/year, allowing users to stream, backup, and access more of their NAS data. It also offers a 250 MB/s Sustained Transfer Rate (STR), making it the giant volume and fastest IronWolf drive in the pack. IronWolf Pro HDDs offer IronWolf Health Management for well suited NAS systems and a five-year warranty.

The Seagate’s new IronWolf Pro 125 and IronWolf 125 SATA SSDs are NAS drives that are made for 24/7 use and have accessible performance to meet the needs of SMBs, creative professionals, and home office users. IronWolf Pro 125 SSD is made for multi-user places and power users allowing for up to 1 DWPD (Power Loss Data Protection), a five-year warranty, and three-year Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Services. IronWolf 125 SSD gives you 0.7 DWPD and a 5-year warranty. They both offer Health Management with a well suited NAS system.

The new IronWolf 125 SSD is now available in capacities of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. The IronWolf Pro 125 is also available now in capacities of 240GB, 480GB , 960GB, 1.92TB, and 3.84TB.
